The Epic Battle: Archangel Michael vs. the Dragon

There are so many stories in the Bible that resonates with so many people across the globe, but one that has powerfully affected all people across the globe is the epic biblical account of Archangel Michael's victorious battle against the dragon - Satan! This captivating narrative unfolds in the Book of Revelation, serving as a testament to the unyielding power of God's righteousness and the unwavering protection that His heavenly forces provide against the forces of darkness.

Revelation 12:7-9 paints a vivid picture of the cosmic struggle that unfolded in the heavenly realms:

"Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray."

This passage encapsulates the eternal battle between the forces of good, led by Archangel Michael, and the malevolent forces of evil embodied by Satan. It is a reminder that even in the heavenly realms, evil cannot stand against the might of God's divine plan.

Spiritual Significance

As believers, we find deep meaning and spiritual significance in this cosmic confrontation. Archangel Michael, Chief Prince, our valiant warrior, fighting against ultimate evil, combating and winning! This embodies God's unwavering commitment to defending His people against the temptations and snares of the enemy. His role as a protector and defender mirrors the loving nature of God, who shields His children from harm.

Satan, represented as a dragon, reflects the deceitful and destructive nature of evil and never ending desire to destroy humankind. The battle signifies the ultimate triumph of God's light over the darkness of sin and deception. In fact, darkness, or evil, cannot, and has no place in Heaven, even if it tries to enter, it is immediately thrown out!

Archangel Michael's victory demonstrates that even in the midst of the spiritual battles we face daily, God's power is greater, and His promises of victory remain steadfast.

The Victory of Light and Truth

The outcome of this celestial battle is a resounding victory for the forces of light and truth. Archangel Michael's unwavering commitment to God's righteousness leads to Satan's expulsion from heaven. This victory reassures us that evil's power is fleeting, and the ultimate authority rests with God alone.

For Christians, this victory holds a profound message of hope and reassurance. It reminds us that no matter how fierce the battles we face—whether spiritual, emotional, or physical—God's divine protection and guidance are always at our side. We can find solace in the fact that just as Archangel Michael triumphed over Satan, so too can we overcome the challenges that come our way.

Yet, this helps us go one step further and take part with heaven to eradicate evil out of our own personal lives. For our fleshly battles between people is not that, it is actually demonic affliction and spiritual forces that comes against us. In the Book of Ephesians, we are told that our battles are not with humans but with demonic forces, and spiritual rulers of the heavenly realms, and it is up to us to face them and defeat them in prayerful battle! Just like Michael.

.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

How do we do that?

The narrative of Archangel Michael's battle against Satan is not just a beacon of inspiration, or some epic battle myth we can refer to in the Bible, it actually took place, and we can do the same as Michael did... we just need to know how?

Through Prayer and the Power of our Tongue!

Our tongue is a mighty weapon against the enemy and spiritual forces. I have seen the enemy explode into a thousand pieces at my word, just one word "BURN!" And that was at the instruction of the Holy Spirit!

We are called to greater things. We have great abilities more then we could ever imagine! Our faith is not just something we have and hold on to in the hope that one day it will helps us and get us into Heaven, no, our faith has "substance," and Heaven calls us to use it daily, in every situation.

Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

The term "substance" has multiple meanings, depending on the context in which it is used. Here are a couple of the primary definitions:

  1. Physical Matter or Material: In a general sense, "substance" refers to the physical matter or material that something is made of. It can refer to the actual stuff that constitutes objects, whether they are solid, liquid, or gas.

  2. Essential Nature or Characteristics: Beyond its physical meaning, "substance" can also refer to the essential nature, quality, or characteristics that define something. This could pertain to the inherent qualities or attributes that give something its identity or significance.

In this context, the verse is highlighting the relationship between faith and hope. It suggests that faith provides a solid foundation or "substance" for the things we hope for, even though we may not yet see them. Faith is seen as the assurance or confidence in the reality of what we hope for, even if it is not immediately visible or tangible, yet it provides us to clues that faith is something more tangible in the spiritual realms.

Personal Experience

I have actually seen this take place in physical form, not in a vision. One day, while walking to work in the city, I was talking to God when I noticed something in the sky. I looked up, and there in front of me was a real Angel, staring intently at something in the distance. The moment I thought, "Wow, it's an angel," it seemed to hear my thought and looked down at me, as if awaiting my instruction!

At first, I was shocked, and then I was filled with awe. The expression on its face conveyed to me that it was on the verge of engaging in a battle, yet I had a sense of authority over it, as if I could command it to do anything I desired. However, as you can imagine, I was so overwhelmed by awe at the fact that I could see this Angel with my physical eyes rather than just my spiritual senses. Consequently, I didn't issue any commands. The Angel returned to focusing on whatever impending battle awaited it here in the sky, within our earthly realm.

Therefore, faith is not just a belief or a word we say, it acts as a bridge between the things we hope for and the reality we can make happen. It is through faith, this foundation and spiritual substance that we hold onto our beliefs and convictions, even when the physical evidence may be lacking, and believe that we can move things, and it will happen!

It calls us to stand firm in our faith, to resist the enticements of the world, and to trust in God's providence even in times of adversity. Just as Michael's unwavering allegiance to God led to victory, our steadfast devotion can lead us to conquer the challenges of our lives.

In our personal struggles against sin and temptation, we can draw strength from the knowledge that the same divine forces that defeated Satan are on our side. This story reminds us that through prayer, faith, and trust in God's plan, we can overcome even the most daunting challenges and emerge victorious.

The biblical account of Archangel Michael's triumphant battle against Satan is not merely a story of the past—it is a timeless testament to the unshakable power of God's righteousness and protection. As Christians, we find solace, hope, and inspiration in this narrative, knowing that no matter the battles we face, God's victory is assured. Just as Archangel Michael's unwavering dedication led to triumph, our devotion and faith can lead us to victory over the challenges of our own lives.

Prayer

Father, in the name of Jesus, I come against all principalities, powers, rulers, dominions and authorities of the air. I bind and rebuke them out of my life and out of my bloodline. I command them to be silenced, crushed and burnt with the fire of God! Reveal to me the deeper revelations on faith and the substance we hope for, in Jesus name.
